Inside one of the most extensive Kennedy philatelic archives we have encountered, featuring nearly 200 autographed covers tied to the presidency, assassination, and conspiracy world surrounding JFK.
One of the most fascinating aspects of collecting is how entire worlds can exist inside incredibly specific niches. Within the broader Kennedy collecting community, postal cover collectors have spent decades building archives centered around stamps, commemorative covers, postal cancellations, and of course autographs and historical connections tied to the Kennedy presidency and assassination.
The upcoming Camelot sale will feature a number of major Kennedy-focused estate collections, one of the most notable being the collection of collector and author Edward Krohn. Within postal cover collecting circles, Krohn is well known as the publisher of several comprehensive reference books focused on stamps, postal covers, and autographed covers, particularly relating to John F. Kennedy.
Nearly every signature in the collection, Ed notes, was obtained personally either in-person or through direct mail correspondence over the years. Very few pieces were purchased from outside sources, and several items within the autograph portion of the collection appear to have been acquired through trades with other longtime trusted Kennedy collectors.
